Mukkir Aspect of Grael
Required level: 151+ Required flagging: None Required weapons: Fire/Pierce/Lightning/Slash
(Slayer weapons can be used as well) Required time amount: Allow for 3 hours (Or break it up into 2 days 1 for each dungeon)
Suggested meeting place: Obsidian Rim (VoD lifestone) Rewards: XP/Slayer of the Black Spear title/ Mukkir-slayer stone/
House item/Rare Recommended ties: Obsidian Rim as well as VoD hot drop and a way to get to Ayan Baqur. Timer: 28 days
-Start-
Meet at the Obsidian Rim by either taking the portal there from the Singularity Caul or by taking
the portal at Aerlinthe Island that leads directly to a portal to the Obsidian Rim. From there run to a shadow named Varetha
at (44.4S, 62.5W). Speak with her to become flagged to the first dungeon where you will be required to collect a shadow stone
from Black Ferah’s vault that will aid in holding down the Mukkir-aspect of Grael. You are warned that Grael’s
followers may have secured the vault so buff up with all protections and all banes. Also buff up Pierce and/or Bludgeon weapons
-Black Ferah’s Vault-
Coords: 39.1 S, 60.1 W. Most versatile weapon type: Slash
When you
are done buffing head out to the nearby dungeon at 39.1 S, 60.1 W. In here you will find rushck, mukkir, and undead rushck
as well as a few shadows. The directions are linear and at any split go straight so it can’t lead you wrong until you
reach an area where you must jump down that will result in a 4-way split. From here take the S or East exit that will take
you to an up-ramp. From there continue on as normal taking every straight option you have when you come to any splits. You
will then come to the first boss of this quest.
-Boss-
Name: Commander Jared Kurth Attacks: Physical -
normally slashing Weaknesses: Viamontian Knight Slayer sword or lightning Cohorts: Two shadows
Commander Kurth’s
only strong side is his fast and hard-hitting melee attacks. One strategy for beating him easily is to fight with ranged weapons
and fight him from outside the hall leading to his chamber (he can’t run into the hall as he is too large). Mages like
tusker fists here.
-Rewards-
Who/Where: Varetha at (44.4S, 62.5W) What: Flagging for the second dungeon
(lasts one month)
After slaying Kurth, make sure you grab the key to open the door he was guarding (disregard the
surface portal in the chamber). Run to the end of the long hallway into a room with an altar in the middle with the shadowstone
atop it. You will need to jump onto the altar. After everyone has looted it you may run back into the chamber with Kurth in
it to exit via the portal or simply recall back to the Obsidian Rim. In either case run back to Varetha at (44.4S, 62.5W).
Give her the stone to flag you for the second dungeon. You may wish to continue on tomorrow or continue on from here. If the
latter then depending on how much time you have left (10 minutes or less) you will want to rebuff fully with all banes and
pierce weapons.
-Mukkir Infested Black Spear Temple-
Coords: 37.2 S, 67.0 W Most versatile weapon type:
Pierce
To reach this dungeon it is easiest to take a ride to the Valley of Death hotdrop and run to 37.2 S, 67.0 W.
The dungeon will be in a frosty-crater that can be reached by taking the right side up the crater wall behind you (will look
like a normal green hill). Run into the temple portal. Once in the dungeon feel free to rebuff if you haven’t already
at Varetha. Once all are ready you must be aware of the many spawn traps (each trap spawns roughly three mukkir). In order
to prevent these as much as possible keep along the edges or jump over them (they reside mostly in any junction point where
a tunnel leads into an open room as well as in the middle of any large open room).
From the drop you will stick to
the right wall until you reach a level that opens up into a dark unstable hallway with rocks falling. The rocks are actually
a spell that deals bludgeon damage (around 250-300). It is advisable to stick to the left wall and watch the rocks fall down
for a pattern. You also want to do this one at a time with people on constant heal in case you are hit though if you have
under 300 health you will most likely die in one shot. You may also want to use Tusker jewel which prevents 99% of Bludgeon
damage.
After the rock fall you will want to stick to the left wall until you reach a large open room that is a down
ramp that ends in three exits. Take the west exit. Follow along until you reach a second open area. From here take the first
exit to the south. At the split take the left passage and stick to the left wall. You will reach a second split and again
take the left passage. Continue sticking to the left wall until you reach a three-way split; take the middle lane. You will
continue following the left wall though two three-way forks and one two-way split. At the next two splits continue straight
ahead taking the immediate left after the second split. Afterwards take the first right and continue until you reach a ledge
overlooking a vast pit.
At this pit you will need to do a full standing jump across to land on another ledge. Once
you do this turn around and do another full standing jump across to another ledge. If you fall to the bottom of the pit you
will need to fight your way back up a series of ramps and best to have a couple friends stick with you lest you die in the
tunnels. However, these jumps are fairly easy and should give you no trouble. From this third ledge you will run into the
tunnels behind you into the lair of the Mukkir-aspect of Grael.
-Boss-
Name: Grael’s Mukkir Aspect Attacks:
Magical - all types and Physical - Bludgeon/Pierce/Slash/Acid Weaknesses: Pierce and Mukkir-slayer Cohorts: None
You
will find yourself in a safe area that is near a pit that you will have to jump down into to face Grael. I would recommend
full rebuffs with at least olthoibanes and pierce weapons. Grael is similar to a Burun Kukuur in that he has special spells
and special vulns that more harmful than level VII. Defeating him with tusker fists is a favourite tactic of mages. After
he is defeated loot a key and a black spear piece off the body. Nearby is a portal to the trophy room. Make sure everyone
has both items. If not, wait approximately 10 minutes for the respawn.
-Rewards-
I
Where: Trophy room
What: Loot and one rare item
Once everyone is done go into the trophy room and use the key on the reliquaries
and loot some nice items (majors/maxed items) as well as one rare. When everyone is done take a portal back to the Obsidian
Rim.
II
Who/where: Varetha at (44.4S, 62.5W) What: XP and a title stone as well as a housing item
From
the drop run to Vaertha and give her the black spear fragment for rewards as well as an item to give to Hoshar.
III
Who/Where: Hoshar in Ayan Baqur What: Title and Mukki-slayer stone
Head to Ayan Baqur and run to the tent
behind the pub. Hoshar is in green armour on the far side of the tent (right end). Hand him the stone for your final rewards.
The Mukkir-slayer stone can NOT be used on any item that has been enhanced in the following ways:
Magic Absorbing
(ranged) (Fetish of the Dark Idols) -20% bonus damage variance boost (melee) (Lucky White Rabbit’s Foot) Undead-slayer
(all) (Lunnum’s Revival quest) Shadow-slayer (all) (Live event: Shadow Breach)
I recommend a tinked to the
hilt CS pierce wand with max stats or a Bludge rend tinked with Green Garnet if you’re a fan of Tusker fisting the mukkirs
on Dark Isle.
Congratulations and enjoy!
